We are seeking a self-driven Field Application Engineer, a member of a highly collaborative sales team that operates at a fast pace to solve customers’ problems and build a better future. Responsibilities

Role and Responsibilities

  • The FAE will be focused on a specific group of applications and customers with responsibility for core product and peripheral signal path standard product design in. His/her results will directly contribute to the growth of our business and will be directly measured on design in revenue, new business opportunity revenue and roadmap development. 
  • Hands-on, individual contributor position. This is not a managerial or supervisory role 
  • Typical role allocation: 70% customer travel, 30% lab/office/training
  • Provides technical support throughout the customer’s definition, evaluation and qualification phases of system development. 
  • Supports the promotion of existing portfolio and launch of new products
  • Performs competitive analysis & develops value proposition
  • Supports device/system debug for design in.
  • Utilizes device and application-level knowledge to help customers optimize signal chain performance and total solution cost. 
  • Supports failure analysis at the application level
  • Conducts regular training for Sales team and Distributor staff
  • Directly contributes to new product & roadmap definition
  • Helps to identify new markets and define next generation solution requirements to grow onsemi market share. 

Travel 

  • Regular travel within Japan is expected.
  • Occasional international travel
Qualifications

Requirements: 5yrs with one or more of the following roles:

  •  Analog, Mixed Signal IC Field Applications Engineer
  •  Analog, Mixed Signal Applications Engineer
  •  Power System Design Engineer 

Product Technology Experience: 

  • Mid/Hi voltage Power Management
  • BLDC, Stepper Motor Drivers
  • Sensor interface

Application Experience: (beneficial)

  • Automotive: Vehicle Electrification, Body Electronics, Power Train

Language

  • Native Japanese 
  • Business level English reading, writing and speaking capability required.

Skills Required

  • 5 years in Analog, Mixed Signal IC Field Applications Engineering, or similar role
  • Experience with Mid/High voltage Power Management
  • Experience in automotive applications is beneficial
  • Native Japanese language skills
  • Business level English reading and speaking
