Duties & Responsibilities:
VIAVI has an exciting opportunity for a Product Line Manager with a proven track record and desire to lead the strategy and product definition of Viavi’s fast-growing AIOps solution portfolio.
AIOps helps Telecom and IT operations teams prevent or quickly resolve operational problems affecting critical services and applications. It reduces the number of critical incidents, improves service availability, and improves team productivity. It leverages AI/ML models to better understand anomalies, correlate related alerts, and identify probable root cause across many services and domains. This role will work closely with customers, development partners, and prospects to drive the strategy of our product to meet customer needs and grow market share.
Reporting to the VP/GM of the Automated Mobile Solutions business unit, this role will be an essential member of the leadership team.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the product strategy and roadmap of the AIOps portfolio to support Viavi business growth objectives.
- Competitive Analysis - Engage in research and conversations with end users, customers, partners, and industry experts to understand market dynamics to create sustainable competitive strategy and positioning.
- Support management to create business plans and new business ideas.
- Working closely with the customers, sales and BD to identify, define and generate Solution requirements as well as pricing and business cases.
- Working in collaboration with VIAVI Engineering and Support & Service teams to help define and deliver cutting-edge solutions.
- Negotiate/arbitrate between customer/sales side and engineering over solution scope and delivery.
- Support Solution launch and introduction activities. Including input to collateral and launch plans in association with Marcoms and Applications.
- Advocate for customers through a cross-functional organization.
Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:
Requirements:
- Experience: At least 10-15 years in product management in the network operations management market, showing successful product development and management.
- In depth experience with observability solutions for network and service operation centers.
- Familiar with the methods and procedures of network and service operations teams.
- Understanding of cloud-based solutions, log and metric analytics, and basic knowledge of AI/ML technologies in IT operations.
- Strong technical background in the mobile comms industry (4G, 5G RAN).
- Good understanding of telecoms network inventory and topology solutions.
- Experience with cloud network infrastructure such as AWS/GCP/AZURE and security requirements is important.
- Strong grasp of cloud infrastructure/computing Technologies such as Virtual Machines, Docker, LXC & Kubernetes.
- Track record of managing and delivering complex solutions to customers.
- Proficient across multiple technology domains and/or ability to understand and position complex solutions to help customers solve critical business and technical problems.
- Comfortable operating at Senior Management and executive level. Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplined customer environments.
- Comfortable and proficient with the business and technical impacts of AIOps solutions across verticals and customers served.
- Well-connected in the industry with a deep understanding of the ecosystem, partners, channels and their roles in the development and delivery of new solutions.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and have a strong technical background.
- Confident, self-starter, able to negotiate product requirements effectively between the customer side and engineering.
- Excellent presentation and customer communication skills (verbal and written) essential.
