Job Description

Algorithm Engineer

We are a company leader in the PCB tools manufacturing environment placed in Italy. We are part of an international group, leader in high technology tool development.

We are searching for an expert Algorithm engineer willing to collaborate with other teams to confront and solve difficult issues in PCB industry.

Role and responsibility

The resource will be included in the R&D Algorithm & SW team and will work on:

  • develop algorithms to make the tool more accurate, fast and reliable for the customer;
  • develop and maintain the tool self-calibrations procedures;
  • write the documentation of the code developed to be included in the SW release notes and to instruct the users on the new features.

Reporting

The resource will be included in the R&D Algorithm & SW team and work under the direction of the technical leader. For non-technical reasons, the resource will report directly to the R&D Manager.

Required skills

The ideal candidate:

  • has a Master degree in Technical disciplines (Physics, Mathematics, etc.);
  • has good knowledge of C, C++, python programming languages;
  • has good knowledge of statistics, models and data analysis;
  • has good knowledge of English language (B2, at least);
  • is curious and wants to learn;
  • has innovative ideas and no fear to try, even failing;
  • is patient, R&D work requires different iterations to find the best solution sometime;
  • offers different viewpoints to the technical leader;
  • likes the teamwork, collaborating with the other people in R&D;
  • wants to work in an international environment confronting very demanding customers.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of 4 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 2 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience
