The Role

The Civil Solutions Business Area within Leidos' Health & Civil Sector has an opening for the position of Air Traffic Management Software Division Manager (ATMSW DM), which carries the designation of VP.  The ATMSW DM will lead a complex $395M+ revenue portfolio providing software solutions for various programs within the FAA to include ERAM, ATOP, TBFM, TFDM, EIDS, AAM and OARS.  International work covered includes the Leidos ATM Skyline product and other international ATM programs (key customers include UK, New Zealand, Singapore).  The ATMSW DM will be responsible for key aspects of program execution and maintaining high quality performance.   

This role will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Civil Solutions Business Area, and will be responsible for leading and sustaining operational excellence to meet or exceed all customer, employee engagement, programmatic, financial and new business commitments.  The ATMSW DM will establish short- and long-range strategies to establish a strong foundation of technical capabilities and leverage to collaborate across the enterprise to apply proficiencies with entrance into new domains or industries and grow the business.

The ATMSW DM will have experience growing both US and international businesses with modernized solutions and must therefore demonstrate strong strategic thinking and innovation skills by understanding “big picture” analysis both from the technological and business case perspectives for both new and existing market initiatives. The ATMSW DM must demonstrate highly ethical performance and behavior that is conducive to professional growth, employee engagement, and continuous staff development.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of FAA systems and networks and programs or show the ability to develop understanding of customer and markets quickly.   As such, we will consider, however, demonstrated success and experience transitioning between industries and baseline customers with positive results. Successful track record will include experience and favorable results from situations that have required anticipation of customer needs, formulation and proposed programmatic and technical solutions, and acceptance to adopt.

Location: The ATMSW DM position is based in Gaithersburg, MD.

Travel: will be required between Washington, DC, Eagan, MN, and Atlantic City, NJ as well as other locations as needed to build business partnerships and develop international and domestic new business opportunities. 

Qualifications:

  • Successful track record with program execution and operational leadership with solid business acumen, sustained delivery excellence, leading multiple portfolios across transportation industries with combined value or scaled value of $250M+
  • You must have a strong track record with understanding and leading prime contractor large scale systems development as well as leading program and business operations; achievement of prime contractor mission critical milestones and successful contract performance; experience leading challenging technical and O&M transitions; developing and implementing growth strategies within ATM (or similar) market and adjacencies; leveraging and expanding existing capabilities to adjacencies.
  • Extensive technical management experience leading multiple System Engineering, Software Development and Test teams of 500+ employees.
  • Proven performance demonstrating leadership skills focusing on execution, people, and strategy.
  • Passion for the mission(s) that have resulted in growth results, typically anchored by sense of urgency, passion, and collaboration.
  • Your experience working successful programs and captures in the US and internationally is vital. This includes experience with system development domains outside the current portfolio as well as anticipating market trends and developing associated technology and business strategies and investments.
  • Proposal and business development experience.
  • Proficient with international contract execution and familiar with export control regulations is essential.
  • Minimum of BA/BS degree and 15+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 13+ years of prior relevant experience is required and at least 12 years of leadership related experience to include leading teams and projects across multiple time zones and locations.

Pay Range:Pay Range $216,800.00 - $348,750.00
