The AI Operations Strategy Director will work in alignment with the broader company's AI Strategy & Execution plan to design, lead, and execute Realtor.com's enterprise approach to embedding artificial intelligence (AI) into the Consumer organization's marketing and product operational workflows.

This leader is a hands-on builder and implementer — someone who can identify high-value automation opportunities, direct a team of engineers, and ship working solutions. They serve as the connector between marketing, product, data, operations, and engineering, translating cross-functional needs into automation solutions that deliver real leverage. They bring deep technical and operational fluency, and hands-on AI tools expertise. Marketing and/or Operations experience such as campaign workflows, marketing automation, and audience management is a meaningful plus.

This senior individual contributor role reports directly to the Chief Consumer & Marketing Officer and works closely with functional leaders and a dedicated team of 5 AI Solutions Engineers to identify, build, and scale AI-powered workflow automation across the Consumer organization. They will partner with the Chief of Staff on organization-wide adoption, training, and governance initiatives.

What You'll Do:

  • Directs 5 AI Solutions Engineers to scope, build, and ship AI-powered workflow automation across the Consumer organization.
  • Drives measurable productivity improvements across the Consumer org by translating AI strategy into actionable, implemented initiatives.
  • Owns the full project pipeline actively identifying, scoping, and prioritizing automation opportunities across Marketing, Brand, Acquisition, Product, Design, Research, News & Insights, and Analytics and drives them through to implementation.
  • Owns a portfolio of AI "Hero Use Cases" (5–6 per planning cycle) with clear problem statements, business cases, success metrics, and automation targets and is directly accountable for delivering them.
  • Develops frameworks for evaluating, piloting, and scaling AI solutions that deliver tangible business impact, including 4–8 week pilots with defined success criteria and ROI validation before scaling.
  • Designs and builds agentic AI workflows including function-specific and "manager" agents in partnership with functional leaders and AI Solutions Engineers.
  • Builds reusable prompt libraries, playbooks, and lightweight automations by role and function to drive everyday adoption.
  • Establishes the Consumer org's AI operating model across four pillars: Access, Training, Playbooks, and Governance including guardrails and approval paths for new AI agents and tools 
  • Establishes operational metrics and dashboards to track AI's impact on productivity per headcount, time savings, throughput, and tooling cost avoidance.
  • Communicates progress, milestones, and business outcomes to executive leadership through concise, data-backed storytelling.
  • Ensures responsible and ethical AI adoption, maintaining compliance, trust, and organizational integrity.

What You'll Bring:

  • Demonstrated experience implementing AI or automation solutions in large-scale operational environments. Experience with Claude (or like technologies) required.
  • Strong technical fluency comfortable working directly with engineers, reviewing implementations, and getting hands-on with tools. This is a technical role first.
  • 12+ years in technical operations, workflow automation, or technology enablement; at least 3 years in a hands-on implementation capacity.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record of shipping taking AI or automation projects from concept through production at scale.
  • Operational background required: experience designing, improving, or scaling complex operational workflows.
  • Marketing experience a plus familiarity with campaign workflows, creative pipelines, channel management, consumer research, and product development is valued but not required.
  • Strong analytical, systems-thinking, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to convert data and ideas into strategic, actionable business plans
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills
