AI News Researcher and Digital Intelligence Analyst
About the Role
Antenna Group is building the next generation of news research and editorial intelligence, where journalism meets technology, data and advanced verification.
We are looking for a highly analytical, digitally fluent, investigative researcher who can reshape the way our newsroom discovers, verifies and contextualizes information.
This role goes beyond traditional research. You will introduce AI, OSINT and data-driven methods, bringing new tools, workflows and intelligence practices that elevate the accuracy, speed and depth of our journalism.
In addition, this role will also support the newsroom in producing AI-powered, social-first news content (TikTok, Reels, Shorts).
This includes using AI tools to generate quick scripts, summaries, explainers, visual/story prompts, and short-form story ideas that align with how younger audiences consume news today.
Job Description
- Conduct deep-dive research on evolving news stories using AI analysis, OSINT techniques and digital investigation methods
- Build structured story timelines, source maps, and relationship/link analyses, identifying contradictions and gaps
- Detect key patterns, narratives, signals, and potential misinformation risks
- Gather and analyse information across multiple formats: text, video, audio, images, transcripts, social media, archives
- Perform thorough fact-checking, source validation and credibility Assessments
- Use AI tools to generate short-form, social-first news content (TikTok, Reels, Shorts) -including scripts, explainers, headlines and visual/story prompts - turning complex topics into simple, engaging formats for younger audiences
- Track how stories evolve over time and across platforms, identifying shifts in narrative and public discourse
- Monitor breaking developments, online conversations, emerging trends and sentiment signals and translate them into prioritized news suggestions
- Consolidate relevant material from broadcast, digital and social channels into clear, research-ready briefings
- Provide producers, reporters and editors with insights, contextual background and concise briefings
- Assess the global ecosystem of AI research tools, OSINT platforms, verification systems and trend analytics, and recommend what best fits ANT1’s newsroom
- Design and introduce AI-assisted research workflows, driving colleagues in adopting new tools and practices
- Stay updated on emerging AI, OSINT and digital verification methodologies and industry best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications, Media Studies, Political Science, International Relations, Information Studies, Digital Media, Data Science or related fields
- Additional training/certifications in OSINT, digital verification, AI/ML for media, investigative techniques, Poynter Institute or similar programs — strong plus
- Proven experience in news research, journalism, media intelligence, content analysis or investigative roles
- Solid knowledge of AI-assisted research (summarization, entity extraction, advanced prompting, multi-source analysis)
- Familiarity with newsroom-grade AI & NLP capabilities used internationally (e.g., semantic search systems such as DeepSearch AI, entity-extraction pipelines, clustering models, automated tagging/classification engines, or similar technologies)
- Experience with OSINT and digital verification tools, such as: InVID, TinEye, Maltego, Hunchly, OSINT Framework, reverse image/video search
- Experience with social listening & trend analysis tools:
Brandwatch, Talkwalker, Meltwater, CrowdTangle, Google Trends - Ability to turn news stories into platform-native short-form content (TikTok, Reels, Shorts) using AI-powered tools (Opus Clip, Captions.ai, Descript, Runway or similar), with strong mastery of digital storytelling, pacing, hooks, headlines and audience engagement
- Strong ability to investigate, analyze and connect fragmented information
- Excellent critical thinking and attention to detail
- Experience with data journalism or quantitative analysis would be considered an asset
- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom
