The Role
Partner with finance and operations to analyze cost-to-serve and project margin using AI tools. Build AI-assisted analyses, automation, dashboards, and process documentation; translate findings to stakeholders and support technical delivery with architects and ML engineers.
Summary Generated by Built In
Merkle's operations team is building a new way of working — one where AI is at the center of how we understand and improve the business. This role sits inside that team, focused on the financial and cost-to-serve side of the house. You will work with real financial data, real operational processes, and real stakeholders to identify problems, build AI-assisted solutions, and help the business make better decisions faster.
This is not a traditional finance analyst role. You will not be maintaining spreadsheets or producing static reports. You will be using AI tools — including Claude — to analyze, automate, and solve. The right person for this role is someone who understands finance and cost structures deeply, is genuinely excited about what AI makes possible, and wants to be part of a team that is building something new.

Job Description:
What You Will Do
- Partner with finance and operations leadership to understand how costs are tracked, analyzed, and reported across the business
- Use AI tools to build solutions that improve visibility into cost-to-serve, project margin, and financial performance
- Analyze financial data to surface trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement — and present findings clearly to stakeholders
- Document business processes and requirements in a way that enables the technical team to build the right solutions
- Support the development of financial dashboards, reporting tools, and automation workflows that reduce manual effort and improve decision quality
- Work collaboratively with other BAs, a technical architect, and an ML engineer to deliver solutions end to end
- Stay current on AI tooling and bring new ideas for how the team can work smarter
Who You Are
- You have 3+ years of experience in a business analyst, financial analyst, or operations role
- You have a solid understanding of financial concepts — cost structures, margin, budgeting, reporting — and how they apply in a professional services or agency context
- You have hands-on experience building with and delivering through AI tools — including Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, or equivalent platforms. You have used AI to automate analysis, generate financial summaries, build workflows, or solve real operational problems. You have studied how these tools work, not just how to prompt them. AI is not a shortcut for you — it is how you work
- You are comfortable working with data — pulling it, cleaning it, analyzing it, and explaining what it means
- You communicate clearly and confidently, both in writing and in conversation, with stakeholders who may not have a technical background
- You work well independently and take ownership of your work from brief to delivery
- AI or data certifications are a plus — we want people who invest in staying current
