At Thales, we’re looking for a curious, hands-on AI intern to join our MCS Business Efficiency team in Mexico City. This isn’t a “run a few experiments and write a slide deck” kind of internship. You’ll work on real use cases with agentic AI: LLM-based assistants, automation through MCP servers, and prompt engineering. Your work will help transform how our teams operate across Operations, DevOps, Project/Service Delivery, and Quality Assurance.
You’ll also be part of our rollout of Agile, DevOps, and Team Topologies-based ways of working (DDPS) across DES BE Americas, and help bring AI tools like Claude Code into the daily workflows of our engineers. You’ll collaborate with engineers, managers, financial controllers, and support/SRE teams, and see your ideas turn into measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, and decision-making.
What you’ll do
- Test, evaluate, and help integrate AI models, LLM-based tools, and agentic workflows (including MCP server-based automation) into our existing processes
- Support the adoption of Agile, DevOps, and DDPS practices, using AI-assisted tooling where it makes sense
- Design and document prompt-engineering solutions and automation scripts that make Operations, DevOps, PM, and QA work smoother
- Prototype and build internal tools and scripts with AI-assisted development (yes, vibe coding with Claude Code!)
- Work with real datasets and document your findings so the whole team can reuse them
- Join stakeholder meetings, gather requirements, propose solutions, and iterate on feedback
What you bring
- Currently studying (3rd year or above) Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, with availability to work while you study
- Solid Python, Linux, and Git (CI/CD, GitLab, or GitHub) skills
- Familiarity with GenAI/LLMs and prompt engineering, plus a basic understanding of data processing, analysis, and visualization
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- A self-driven attitude, strong communication, and a love of teamwork and problem-solving
Bonus points
- Exposure to agentic AI and tools like MCP servers, Claude Code, or Copilot-style assistants
- Familiarity with Confluence, Jira, or ServiceNow
- Interest in Agile, DevOps, or Team Topologies
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
