AI & Engineering Platform Intern

We are looking for a forward-thinking AI & Engineering Platform Intern who is passionate about the intersection of Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence. In this role, you won't just write code; you will be at the forefront of the AI-Native Development movement. You will use Cursor, LLMs, and agentic frameworks to build, automate, and optimize the tools that keep Arlo’s global infrastructure running at 99.99% availability.

Responsibilities

• AI-Driven Tooling: Build and enhance internal tools and CLI utilities using Cursor and AI-assisted development to improve developer productivity.

• SRE Automation: Assist in developing and refining the Arlo SRE Agent workflows for automated incident triage, log analysis (Splunk), and metric correlation (Datadog).

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Leverage AI to generate and audit Terraform/CloudFormation templates for AWS-based global deployments.

• Process Optimization: Analyze existing manual DevOps/SRE workflows and propose/implement AI-powered replacements.

• Knowledge Base Management: Use AI to synthesize incident reports and documentation into searchable knowledge bases for the engineering organization.

Requirements

• AI Savvy: High proficiency in using Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI-integrated IDEs to accelerate development cycles.

• Technical Foundation: Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with strong coding skills in Python, TypeScript/Node.js, or Go.

• Curiosity for Infrastructure: A deep interest in how large-scale cloud systems work (AWS, Kubernetes, EKS, DynamoDB).

• Problem Solver: Ability to take a high-level "user query" and turn it into a functional tool or automation script.

• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to document AI-native workflows for the broader team.

Bonus Points

• Experience with Prompt Engineering or building apps using OpenAI/Anthropic APIs.

• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Datadog and Splunk.

• Contributions to open-source projects or a portfolio of personal projects built using AI assistance.

• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Harness, GitHub Actions).

The pay range for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries at commencement of employment and is expected to be between USD $3,600 - $4,800/month.  However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including role, job-related knowledge, skills, relevant education and experience.
