We are seeking an AI & Automation Developer for our client based in Germany. The role offers a remote work opportunity.

Role Purpose

The AI & Automation Developer designs, builds, and operates automation and AI-enabled solutions from initial prototype and MVP through to production-ready applications. The role translates business-process requirements provided by the Process Application Product Owner into practical technical solutions and supports business teams in developing simpler automations and applications themselves.

The role is hands-on and development-focused, combining low-code/no-code platforms, AI services, APIs, and custom development where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop automation and AI-enabled solutions from prototype and MVP through to production deployment.
  
• Translate business-process requirements and use cases into appropriate technical solution designs.
  
• Build workflows, integrations, applications, and AI-powered solutions using low-code/no-code platforms and custom development where required.
  
• Integrate applications, APIs, data sources, AI services, and business systems into end-to-end automated processes.
  
• Develop and maintain custom components and services, including Python-based solutions and serverless functions where appropriate.
  
• Test, document, deploy, monitor, and continuously improve developed solutions.
  
• Support business teams with solution design, technical guidance, and hands-on assistance to enable them to build simpler automations and applications independently.
  
• Establish reusable components, development patterns, and best practices to accelerate automation across the organization.
  
• Work closely with the Process Application Product Owner and relevant business and IT stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
  
• Identify technical risks, limitations, and opportunities and recommend pragmatic solutions based on business value and implementation effort.
  

Profile

• Typically 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in software development, automation engineering, low-code development, AI application development, or a comparable technical role.
  
• Experience designing end-to-end technical solutions and making architecture decisions across low-code platforms, APIs, AI services, cloud components, and custom development.
  
• Strong hands-on development skills and demonstrated experience taking solutions from prototype through to productive use.
  
• Experience with workflow and orchestration platforms such as Power Automate, Make, Voiceflow, or comparable tools.
  
• Experience developing business applications using Power Apps or comparable low-code application platforms.
  
• Hands-on experience integrating AI/LLM services such as Microsoft Copilot, Anthropic Claude, or comparable AI platforms into business processes and applications.
  
• Practical Python development experience; experience with Azure Functions or comparable serverless environments is an advantage.
  
• Good understanding of APIs, webhooks, authentication, JSON, data integration, and system-to-system communication.
  
• Experience with testing, deployment, monitoring, documentation, and maintaining production applications.
  
• Ability to select pragmatically between low-code/no-code, AI-based, and custom-developed solutions depending on the use case.
  
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and support non-technical business users in developing their own solutions.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured, hands-on working style.
  
• Business-fluent English and clear communication skills when working with business and technical stakeholders.
  
• Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership, curiosity, and accountability.
