About this role
The Legal and Compliance (L&C) Technology & Transformation Team delivers process and technology innovation to drive operational scale for the Legal and Compliance department and implements solutions that reduce regulatory and reputational risk for BlackRock.
The team provides business analysis, project management, business process reengineering, solution design, and change management for L&C's large and complex technology and AI initiatives.
Role Description:
The AI Agent Developer Associate will enable the L&C to achieve its AI strategy and drive scale and impact for the future. They will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying AI-powered agent solutions that support the automation and transformation of L&C processes. The role partners with stakeholders across the organization to identify opportunities for AI-driven solutions, that will deliver intelligent automation at scale drive organizational efficiencies.
Position Overview:
The candidate will work closely with stakeholders across L&C and internal engineering and data teams to understand business workflows and translate them into AI agent solutions. They will contribute to the full development lifecycle of AI initiatives — from ideation through deployment — and help maintain and evolve the team's growing portfolio of AI tools and agents. The candidate should be aware of current and emerging AI technologies, large language models (LLMs), and agentic frameworks, and bring a continuous improvement mindset to everything they do.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and deploy AI agent solutions using large language models (LLMs), agentic frameworks, and automation platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI, or similar).
Partner with Legal & Compliance stakeholders to identify use cases for AI automation and translate business needs into functional technical requirements.
Contribute to the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements capture, solution design, development, testing, and deployment.
Ensure project documentation meets the governance standards set by the team's framework.
Maintain and support existing AI agent solutions, monitoring performance and optimizing for accuracy, efficiency, and reliability.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AI agent processes and integrations.
Document AI solutions and provide training and change management support to end-users.
Manage day-to-day project deliverables, including providing status updates to stakeholders and proactively identifying risks to project success.
Work closely with users, designers, developers, and product managers to translate creative concepts into working prototypes.
Solve complex problems in an ever-changing environment with a focus on process optimization, data, and technology.
Operate within an environment of transparency, diversity, and forward-thinking participation at every level.
Build and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships with colleagues and clients, grounded in a culture of teamwork and support.
Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
2–3 years of relevant experience, hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks, LLMs, or agentic development tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI, or similar).
Experience with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines, prompt engineering and model evaluation
Proficiency in Python; experience with additional languages such as Java is a plus.
Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or equivalent.
Experience with Agile development concepts and related tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and an ability to use own initiative.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize across multiple projects in a fast-paced global environment.
A student of technology who stays current with new and emerging AI tools and their potential to transform legal and compliance processes.
Curious and flexible, with critical thinking skills and a drive to innovate.
Understanding of Legal and Compliance processes is a plus.
