An Agronomy Account Manager is in charge of selling seed, crop protection products, crop nutrients, precision ag products and services in a well-established cooperative setting. Providing great customer service, having a professional work ethic, and building good working relationships with the growers will be key in this role.


What You'll Do:

  • Make sales calls throughout assigned territory to determine agronomy needs, create solutions and build long term relationships with customers that will generate sales of seed, nutrients, crop protection products, and agronomy services to meet specified goals.
  • Work with Regional Sales Manager to develop and maintain a current list of customers and prospects and rate them based on customer segmentation guidelines.
  • Engages in proper sales behaviors such as; on farm calls, follow up meetings, prospect calls, creating professional proposals, and getting referrals.
  • Create a territory plan for assigned area.
  • Utilize current marketing programs, products, services, and resources to sell agronomy products in an ethical manor.
  • Follows an effective sales system.
  • Ensure that all required paperwork is complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
  • Supplies management with oral and written reports on market intelligence, customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Coordinate sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics, technical service, and operations groups.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 to 5 years retail agronomy sales experience preferred.
  • Competent in MS Office and Microsoft Outlook.
  • CCA (Certified Crop Advisor) preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Working Conditions:

May be exposed to dust, noise, heat, cold, ag chemicals and vapors, and moving machinery on occasion as part of this position. May be required to work long hours in season, as well as work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
