About the Role
We are hiring a Vice President (VP), Agentic AI Engineering, for our GenAI Center of Excellence at State Street. As VP, you will own the strategy and architecture of our enterprise agentic AI platform, setting the vision for multi-agent orchestration, security, and governance. This is a senior leadership role where you will influence technology direction across the organization, lead engineering talent, and foster innovation in agentic AI on AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.
Key Responsibilities
Own the enterprise agentic platform strategy, including architecture, technology roadmap, and governance standards, with a focus on multi-cloud (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) scalability and resilience.
Exposure to agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Langraph, GoogleADK) and drive innovation in multi-agent orchestration at scale.
Set and monitor organizational standards for multi-agent orchestration, A2A protocols, HITL, tenant IAM/RBAC, and runtime security across cloud platforms.
Represent the Agent Foundry and Runtime pods in executive and cross-functional governance forums, influencing cloud adoption and strategy.
Drive platform-wide reliability, scalability, and cost optimization initiatives for agentic AI workloads across AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.
Build, lead, and develop engineering leadership talent across the pods.
Partner with Architecture, Data/Knowledge, and Product teams for end-to-end platform strategy and delivery, ensuring alignment of cloud and agentic stack adoption.
Foster innovation and continuous improvement, promoting technical excellence and emerging best practices for cloud-native agentic platforms.
Oversee compliance, risk, and performance reviews for agentic AI at the organizational level, including across public cloud environments.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degrees a plus.
12–17 years of relevant experience, including leadership of large-scale, multi-agent or AI-driven platforms.
Proficient in Python and familiar with at least one additional modern programming language (such as Java, Go, or C++).
Proven strategic ownership of platform architecture and technology roadmaps, with deep knowledge of agentic AI systems.
Extensive hands-on and leadership experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure), including security, governance, and cost optimization.
Demonstrated success in setting organizational standards for reliability, scalability, and incident management in AI systems.
Experience partnering with executive and cross-functional teams on platform strategy and delivery.
Track record of building and developing engineering leadership talent and fostering innovation.
Expertise in compliance, risk management, and performance oversight for enterprise AI solutions.
Exceptional communication, governance, and stakeholder management skills.
