Aeronautical Engineer (Fluids Subsystems Analyst)/Principal Aeronautical Engineer (Fluids Subsystems Analyst)
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is looking for an Aeronautical Engineer (Fluid Subsystems Analyst)/Principal Aeronautical Engineer (Fluids Subsystems Analyst) to join our Air Vehicle Subsystems and Architecture team in Melbourne, FL.
This role may be filled as an Aeronautical Engineer (Fluid Subsystems Analyst)(Level 2) or Principal Aeronautical Engineer (Fluid Subsystems Analyst)(Level 3) based on the qualifications outlined below.
This position will be responsible for analyzing fluid subsystem performance and supporting flight test along with model validation for configuration updates.
Essential Functions:
Fluid subsystems performance data analysis using tools such as AMESIM for aircraft subsystems such as Hydraulics, Fuel, Environmental Control Systems, and Liquid Cooling Systems
Lab, supplier, and flight test data post processing and analysis using tools such as MATLAB and Excel
Generate test procedures and correlate system models to test data
Support subsystems architecture and sizing of fluid system layouts for existing designs and new architecture modifications
Verification of system requirements using analysis, demonstration, inspection, and test
Basic Qualifications:
For Level 2: Must have a Bachelor's in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 2 years of experience in the design and integration of equipment OR a Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 0 years of experience in the design and integration of equipment.
For Level 3: Must have a Bachelor's in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 5 years of experience in the design and integration of equipment OR a Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 3 years of experience in the design and integration of equipment.
Active In-Scope DoD Secret clearance.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs. This SAP must be obtained prior to employment.
Demonstrated experience designing, analyzing, and/or architecting fluid and/or mechanical systems
Demonstrated experience with CAD software
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with aircraft and air vehicle subsystems & fluid analysis
Experience with hydraulic and/or fuel systems
Experience with systems integration and architecture management
Experience with requirements and model-based systems engineering
Experience with MATLAB

Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience in equipment design and integration for Level 2, or a master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience in equipment design and integration for Level 3, or a master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience
- Active in-scope DoD Secret clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program clearance within the required timeframe, prior to employment
- Demonstrated experience designing, analyzing, or architecting fluid and/or mechanical systems
- Demonstrated experience with CAD software
- Experience with aircraft and air vehicle subsystems and fluid analysis
