Job Description
Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. is seeking an Advisory Program Product Specialist to join the Asset Management Department in the New York office. This role works closely with Financial Advisors, Compliance, Program Administration, and Technology teams to support Financial Advisor Directed and Discretionary Advisory Programs and related business initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Daily oversight and control reporting on Financial Advisor Directed and Discretionary programs
- Collaborate with business and technology partners to upgrade, enhance and implement new technology, including trading platforms, portfolio management tools, and Financial Advisor-facing systems
- Meet regularly with Compliance and Program Administration to review and update policies and procedures
- Analyze data and formulate reports to identify trends, outliers, commonality and dispersion
- Work collaboratively with Financial Advisors to assist in learning new technology, troubleshoot and resolve system defects, and improve client experience
- Serve as the primary product specialist for Financial Advisor Directed and Discretionary Advisory Programs
- Assist in the rollout of new advisory portfolio management systems, test system functionality, identify defects, and work with vendors to resolve open tickets
- Draft field communications and broadly communicate rollout plans and project progress
- Occasional travel to meet with and train Financial Advisors and support staff on system functionality
- Identify process improvement opportunities in existing procedures and implement enhancements to increase efficiency and productivity
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in broker-dealer, wealth management operations, portfolio management, or trading system support
- Strong analytical skills, critical-thinking, and attention to detail
- Knowledge of financial markets and investment management with specific experience in portfolio management and implementation
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships and present to large audiences
- Highly detailed individual capable of multi-tasking and communicating effectively to a wide audience
- Self-starter with strong business analyst skills, project management capabilities, and a root cause corrective action approach
- Exceptional work ethic and time management skills
- Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness in all facets of daily work
- Ability to work independently as well as within a professional team environment
Licensing and Technical Requirements:
- Possess a high degree of proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access), as well as SQL, VBA, and macro-writing abilities
- Experience with portfolio management systems, including Vestmark, FiSERV APL, Advent MOXY, Charles River, and similar programs
- FINRA Registrations: SIE, Series 6 or 7, and Series 63/65 or 66 preferred
Compensation
For job postings in New York City, Oppenheimer is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. This salary range is specific to the City of New York and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making salary decisions including but not limited to your skills, qualifications, experience, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 at the time of this posting. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as discretionary bonus.
