Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
We are looking for a Infra Engineer to drive reliability, scalability, and performance across cloud-based infrastructure in a distributed, dynamic environment. This role blends software engineering and advanced systems operations to improve availability, reduce operational toil through automation, and strengthen observability and incident response across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
What does a successful Cloud Infrastructure Engineer do at Fiserv?
As a Sr. Cloud Engineer, you are an expert on all things public cloud. Your primary focus is to design and manage a secure public cloud foundation. Working with our technical delivery teams and other platform engineering groups, you’ll work on a team to build capabilities and service specific controls that enable our application teams to safely use cloud services to deliver world class applications to Fiserv customers.
What you will do:
- Assist with engineering and building out the Cloud product to enable our business applications and teams moving to public cloud
- Work with Cloud Security Architects and Platform Engineers to ensure Fiserv’s public cloud is secure and up to security standards
- Work with Infrastructure Engineers to design and build a cloud foundation that technical delivery teams can build on top of
- Assist with the design and implementation of key areas related to cloud including IAM, Hybrid DNS, audit logging, network topology, governance and more
- Partner with technical delivery teams to define secure configurations of common cloud services
- Assist with implementation of policies using various cloud posture management security tools
- Assist with the design and build of various tools/automation to streamline existing processes and enabling self service
- Assist application teams with building out infrastructure and specific cloud native services in the Cloud
- Assist in the remediation of identified security findings
- Assist cloud operations staff with troubleshooting and operations escalations
- Work with other IT, Security, and Business Unit teams to deliver a world class public cloud platform
What you will need to have:
- 5+ Years of Hands-on experience on multi-cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP). Expertise on any 2 Cloud platform is mandatory.
- 2+ Years hands-on experience on Engineering / Design / Architecture on Cloud platform is mandatory
- Architecture/Engineering certifications related to Cloud Service Providers or demonstratable equivalency
- Experience building cloud solutions through the console and using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Google Deployment Manager, Azure Resource Manager, AWS CloudFormation, etc.
- Solid understanding of basic internet principles such as HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, Networking, Load Balancing, etc
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python/Powershell
- Experience with containers and/or container orchestration such as Kubernetes is a plus
- Effective written and verbal skills
What would be great to have:
- Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer, or Azure DevOps Engineer.
- Experience with chaos engineering or resilience testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets, and how to apply them to improve service reliability.
- Experience gathering operational feedback and driving improvement solutions using Azure services.
