As a Advanced Systems Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will work on satellite terminal development for airplanes and UAVs, involving integration and certification tests, documentation, and new product design. The role requires gaining knowledge in RF technology, radio certification, aeronautical operations, and satellite network operation. In this role you can become an expert in our satcom aerospace product portfolio including projects like our solution Aspire 350/400 satellite communication offerings provides in-flight connectivity for business aviation, airlines and helicopters leveraging Inmarsat's satellite system.
You will report directly to our Sr Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Brno location on a Hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the development of advanced systems, ensuring they meet Honeywell's quality standards and industry best practices while addressing complex engineering challenges.
Responsibilities- Conduct lab testing, measurements, integration, and troubleshooting of airplane satellite modems, amplifiers, and antennas.
- Author test procedures, reports, design test equipment, and engage in certification activities.
- Present and justify work results to English-speaking audiences.
- Test system integration with product, review and perform the test solution verification
- Occasionally travel to external test labs or airplanes for flight test integration, mainly within the EU.
- Complete assignments through collaboration, research, and experimentation.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Higher Education in Engineering
- Interest and basic knowledge in RF/telecommunication, with a passion for understanding how things work.
- 2 or more years of experience in systems engineering and project leadership.
- Problem-solving and results-oriented mindset.
- Experience in RF design/testing, including use of measurement instruments and/or practical experience with IP networking, IP security, Linux command line, scripting, and reading Python code will be considered an advantage.
- Familiarity with environmental testing (DO-160) and MOPS (DO-262), EMC/EMI design/testing, NI toolset, electrical design, and aviation technology will be considered an advantage.
