Job Description
Managed Service Providers (MSPs) are always looking for skilled technicians who are responsible for handling back-end infrastructure support as well as advanced second-level support of service requests in a professional & timely manner and managing the activities and responsibilities of the service desk team. This relates to all technology, including workstations, servers, printers, networks, and vendor-specific hardware and software.
Advanced System Administrators have effective communication skills, problem-solving skills, experience with managing servers and SMB network infrastructures and advanced experience in end-user support. Success for them is when they can confidently interact with the user and solve a complex infrastructure-related problem.
Education and Qualifications
- >=5 years of IT or related domain
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good conceptual understanding of Windows architecture
- At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience on Wintel
- At least 2 years of experience in end-user technical support
- At least one year of hands-on experience in one of the following technologies:
- Active Directory
- O365
- Azure
- Education: Graduate (Any stream) preferably in computer science or a related field
Responsibilities
- Windows Server support
- Advanced Desktop Troubleshooting
- Windows Server Administration
- Active Directory Administration
- O365/MS Exchange (2010 or higher) or Hybrid administration
- Backup administration
- LAN/WAN troubleshooting and diagnosis
- Basic private and public cloud administration
- Server and network alert management and remediation
- Server antimalware administration and resolution
Added Advantage
- Desktop troubleshooting experience
- Networking Skills, Private cloud administration (VMware/Hyper V)
- Conceptual understanding or hands-on experience on Backup
- Conceptual understanding or hands-on experience with Firewalls
- MCSE or CCNA or Network+ or Security+ or VMware or Azure or ITIL foundation
