A Brief Summary of This Position

The Advanced, Sales Enablement Specialist develops and oversees the resources, training, tools, systems and content that help the Valmont Coatings sales team sell more effectively and efficiently. They align sales with marketing and track sales performance to improve results while partnering with operations on optimizing our sales funnel. This position will reside in Omaha, NE or within 40 miles of another Valmont Coatings facility.


Essential Functions

Training & Coaching – provide training and support to the site sales representatives including:

  • Sales Funnel: launching and sustaining forecasting and extended outlook volume tracking. Monitor monthly deliverables and roll up details into a national report.
  • Customer Analysis: defining value propositions, building more detailed SWOT & market analyses, identifying buyer personas & new value add opportunities, evaluating plant fit, utilizing survey results, and improving sales funnel accuracy.
  • Customer Support & Education: developing the site sales representatives’ ability to provide customer & specifier technical training and complete on-site inspections & repairs.

Content – develop internal-facing playbooks (SOPs) and customer-facing assets that improve execution.

  • Internal: develop and maintain an internal-facing sales playbook that includes standard expectations & processing procedures along with best execution practices.
  • External: partner with marketing on the development & maintenance of customer-facing assets that engage prospects effectively, communicate important details clearly, and address frequent technical challenges.

Technology – work with site sales representatives to expand embracement of technology platforms to access materials, track content engagement, and manage customer relationships.

  • VCC Max: call documentation improvements, pricing function adherence, contact management, customer embracement / training, feedback on system improvements.
  • Showpad: integration into daily activity, expansion of functionality & resources, and working with marketing on improving organization of content.
  • Microsoft Teams / Sharepoint: organization and management of content.
  • Construct Connect: set-up subscriptions to receive notifications on large, upcoming galvanized projects for distribution to sites. Pull quarterly market data for trend analysis.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Track sales focused KPIs related to market trends, quote activity, pricing, performance, call documentation, etc. and prepare monthly metric reports for management review.
  • Monitor incoming segment level RFQs generated from the website for assignment, track status and conversion rates.
  • Manage large, multi-plant projects and new customers as the primary point of contact, working with Regional Directors and General Managers to identify fit, capacity, timing, pricing, and expectations.
  • Identify constraints to conversion for targeted accounts – develop and present action plans to overcome the constraints when possible.
  • Participate in national association and tradeshow events. Partner with marketing and site sales representatives on identifying opportunities for further involvement with local/regional events.
  • Identify and submit proposals to present educational seminars to event participants, associations, and large organizations. Partner with marketing and site sales representatives to expand local efforts.
  • Participate in national sales meetings/training and attend conferences & tradeshows.

Required Qualifications
  • Preferred Bachelors with 5+ years relevant experience or associate’s degree with 7+ years relevant experience or 9+ years of relevant experience
  • Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record
  • Ability to effectively interpret and present information both one-on-one and in front of an audience
  • Ability to calculate basic math concepts to calculate per piece charges, order totals, discounts, proportions, and interest charges
  • Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
  • Ability to travel nationally and into Canada, approximately 25%.
  • Able to communicate with and work well with people at all levels of the organization both internally and externally.
 Highly qualified candidates will also possess:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • A proven record of exceptional sales performance both in increased existing business and new business sales development
  • The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues.
  • Talented and skilled at working collaboratively within the organization
  • Lean Manufacturing background.
