As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer II here at Solstice Advanced Materials, you will provide technical leadership for manufacturing automation, robotics, and equipment reliability across the site. This role supports the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of FANUC robotic systems and other automated equipment while partnering with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams. A key responsibility is providing engineering support during weekend day-shift operations to minimize downtime, resolve automation issues, and improve equipment performance.
This role will report to the Sr Maintenance Manager, and will work one of the following schedules: Day shift weekends, Friday-Monday day shift, or Thursday-Sunday day shift.
ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the primary engineering resource during weekend day-shift operations
- Provide technical support for FANUC robots, PLCs, vision systems, controls, and automated production equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, controls, and automation-related equipment failures
- Partner with maintenance technicians and engineers to identify root causes and implement permanent corrective actions
- Develop and improve preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for robotic and automated systems
- Review equipment performance data and downtime trends to improve reliability and OEE
- Create and maintain troubleshooting guides, maintenance procedures, and work instructions
- Train and mentor maintenance technicians on robotic and automated systems
- Develop training materials related to FANUC robot operation, programming, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, productivity, and automation performance
- Ensure automation systems comply with company safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Participate in risk assessments, lockout/tagout reviews, and machine safeguarding improvements
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor's degree, technical degree, or 3+ years of experience supporting manufacturing automation, FANUC robotic systems, and industrial production equipment
- Working knowledge of PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment
- Experience troubleshooting automated equipment and manufacturing processes
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions during weekend operations

- Experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLC platforms
- Knowledge of HMI systems, industrial networking, vision systems, and servo controls

COMPENSATION
The annual base salary for this position is $80,000-$105,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Solstice considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
