As an Advanced Software Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will develop and implement sophisticated software solutions that drive innovation in aerospace technologies. You will work on cutting-edge projects that enhance system performance, reliability, and safety, contributing to the advancement of aerospace applications.
You will report directly to our Engineering Manager, and you’ll work out of our Clearwater, Florida location on a hybrid work schedule.
Note: All new hires are expected to report 100% on-site for the first 90 days of employment.
In this role, you will impact the design and development of high-performance software systems that support aerospace operations, ensuring integration with hardware and compliance with industry standards to deliver reliable and efficient solutions.

Responsibilities- Design, development, and testing of software solutions that enhance our aerospace products and services, ensuring alignment with project requirements and timeline.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software specifications and enhance system performance.
- Responsible for executing project subtasks in order to meet customer specifications.
- Conducts technical interchange of task level information (system requirements, specifications.) with team members and internal customers.
- Contribute with software documentation, including user manuals, technical specifications, and project reports.
- Ability to code in multiple languages (with object-oriented languages like e.g. C++)
Travel, up to 10%, may be expected.
QualificationsYOU MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
- 5+ years of embedded software development experience (full life cycle)
WE VALUE:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science-focused line of study
- Strong experience with Embedded RTOS, such as VxWorks®, Linux, Integrity®, Deos™
- Strong experience with computer architecture, networking and computer communications (e.g. A429, I2C, SPI, UART)
- Aerospace embedded software development experience
- Proficient with C, C++ and Phyton programming languages. Assembly language experience.
- Software verification and validation experience
- Awareness about DO-178 B/C
- Experience with various software development lifecycle
- Experience of JIRA, Bitbucket, DOORS, and Microsoft Visual Studio
- Experience of software configuration management and change management practices
- Diverse and global teaming and collaboration
- Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events
