Credence has an immediate opening for an Advanced Planning Engineer at the Senior level supporting AFLCMC/WAX at Wright Patterson AFB, OH.

The Plans and Programs Division supports the modernization and sustainment of Fighter and Advanced Aircraft (F&AA) capabilities for the U.S. Air Force and coalition partners. The division manages capability planning, technology integration, program oversight, and cross-functional processes—including airworthiness, configuration management, system safety, and cybersecurity—from concept through fielding. It also develops future capability roadmaps in collaboration with Air Force Major Commands (MAJCOMs) and other key stakeholders.

  • The Advance Planning Engineer shall assist in conducting and supporting all engineering and technical activities required during the material solution analysis, technology development, engineering and manufacturing development, production and deployment, and operation and support phases of the systems acquisition process to include the following: requirements definition and analysis, architecture design, implementation, integration, verification and validation, transition, decision analysis, requirements management, risk management, interface management, and configuration management.
  • Assist in developing and preparing all engineering and technical documentation including but not limited to the systems engineering plan.
  • Shall assist in conducting systems review and analysis with written reporting, briefing, and artifact development as required for all of the technical specialty areas defined in the following sections. 
  • Assist in planning and executing all necessary technical reviews, assessments, and technical interchange meetings including but not limited to CDRs, manufacturing readiness assessments, and reliability technical interchange meetings. 
  • Prepare associated artifacts (e.g. CDR entry and exit criteria).
  • Assist in producing architectures which assess user needs, document the planned and existing systems intended to meet the needs, determine deficiencies, develop and recommend alternative solutions to meet the deficiencies, and support development of a plan to implement the chosen solution.
  • Provide developmental planning support in evaluation of the military mission to be accomplished and related requirements documentation. 
  • Divide mission tasking (requirements) or a system concept into the basic building block activities (functions) that must be done and the associated time frame to do the job assigned or envisioned.
  • Assist in comparing the ability of existing and/or derivative existing systems to meet mission needs / requirements. 
  • Assess mission needs and current weapon system capabilities and deficiencies to determine relative importance and potential pay-off of current and proposed statements of technology needs.
  • Perform engineering tasks concerned with definition of advanced aircraft systems, electronic systems, weapon systems, and range systems requirements and performance.
  • Assist in developing and utilizing analytical and simulation analysis techniques to optimize system performance and/or system effectiveness; establish system sensitivities, define system parameters, evaluate hardware, and validate flight test results in terms of overall system relationships and applications.
  • Assist in conducting simulation studies to evaluate all aspects of system development and acquisition to include but not be limited to system and component performance, engineering trade-offs, system effectiveness, and logistics.

Requirements
  • Active Top Secret security clearance
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience and an undergraduate degree with a major in engineering from a college or university with an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited engineering program(s) for the degree requirements of the position (e.g. electrical, mechanical, aerospace).  Degrees in engineering technology are not considered to be qualifying for these positions.
  • Works on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently.  Oversees the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
  • Apply knowledge and experience in engineering principles, criteria, and procedures to USAF and FMS systems, subsystems, and equipment procurement activities, post award project/program management tasks, and acquisition programs throughout their life cycles.
  • Provide products and services as described below in execution of its engineering support mission within F/B Directorate. 
  • Experience and capability to support the assigned tasks and support personnel in the analysis, support, specialty, engineering and/or functional capability of the task.
