Summary of Job Duties:
The Administrative Support Specialist helps university relations achieve its desired communications goals and objectives by performing a wide variety of administrative, fiscal, and budgetary support tasks as well as assisting team leaders in operations and brand support, executive, administrative, marketing, and integrated communications with varied projects.
This position reports directly to the Senior Director for Operations & Brand Management.
This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:


  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma 
  • At least one year of specialized training in business management, business education, or a related field
  • At least one year of experience in a professional office environment

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • More than two years of experience providing administrative support
  • More than two years of experience providing fiscal/budgetary support
  • Experience with Workday Enterprise Management software
  • Experience working in higher education  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Knowledge of record-keeping procedures 
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of mathematics and statistics 
  • Knowledge of work-related subject area
  • Knowledge of computers and software applications 
  • Possess attention-to-detail skills  
  • Strong communication skills: written, verbal, and listening  
  • Ability to conduct research and compile data into a report form 
  • Ability to establish and maintain filing systems 
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment 
  • Ability to analyze documents to determine compliance with rules, regulations, and procedures 
  • Ability to be dependable and punctual  
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate with a team, and exercise good judgment in a deadline-driven environment  
  • Ability to deliver and receive critique and feedback positively
