The Salvation Army Midland Division Corps located in Branson, Missouri, is looking for a Administrative Assistant! The position will serve to assist the Corps Administrator. The Administrative Assistant will also work with both paid and volunteer staff in the delivery of The Salvation Amy programs and services.


This is a part-time, 25 hour a week position that pays $15.75 per hour!

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate CA's mail and electronic communications.
  • Manage CA's work calendar and schedule approved meetings on the calendar.
  • Manage CA's working files and bring-up system. Prepare and provide the working files for meetings. paying special attention to deadlines in this file preparation process.
  • Communication liaison between CA and other Branson Salvation Army staff, paid and volunteer, when CA is out of the office for extended time periods (e.g. furlough officers' councils, camping assignments, and emergency and disaster services, etc.)
  • Pick up and open all mail and stamp "RECEIVED DATE" in the presence of another person. The other person present during opening mail will be selected by CA.
  • Serve as the primary staff person to answer and process telephone calls and take messages.
  • Be one of at least two people who help make the bank deposits each Monday from Sunday offerings and any other monies that need to be deposited. The second person helping with deposits will be selected by CA.
  • Scan bills, income other than tithes and offerings, Social Service check requests to Divisional Headquarters (DHQ) bookkeeper at end of each work week; record and submit mail appeal mailings, white mail, etc. to DHQ development office as appropriate assist with compiling and processing mail appeal and white mail mailings.

Education and Experience

  • Requires High School Diploma or equivalent. 
  • Prior office experience helpful. 
  • Proficiency With Excel, Office 365, and other basic office programs are beneficial for this position.
  • Team player, a self-starter, able to handle several projects at the same time and perform well with minimum supervision. 
  • Must demonstrate ability to think independently and exercise sound judgment.   
  • Requires a valid drivers’ license and pass The Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Report check.

Physical and Working Conditions

  • Must be capable of performing the above essential duties in an office environment including using a computer, answering phones, etc. 
  • Most work will be indoors in a temperature-controlled environment.  However, during a response to a disaster, the work environment will most likely reflect the affected area. 
  • Working outdoors will reflect seasonal weather and the initial response could require intensive manual labor operations.
