The Organization

North Los Angeles County Regional Center “NLACRC” is a private, non-profit agency that is contracted with the State of California, Department of Developmental Services, to provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. NLACRC is one of the largest regional centers in California and has proudly served the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Antelope Valley since 1974. We serve individuals across the lifespan from infants and toddlers, school age children, transition-age youth, to adults and aging adults.

 

Scope 

The IT Administrative Assistant provides administrative, coordination, and documentation support to the Information Technology (IT) department. This role ensures that IT operations run efficiently by managing records, tracking assets, supporting purchasing and vendor coordination, and facilitating clear communication between IT staff and the broader organization. The position does not perform technical engineering or systems administration but plays a critical role in enabling IT staff to focus on core technical responsibilities.

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Provide administrative support to the IT department, including scheduling meetings, coordinating calendars, and tracking action items
  • Prepare agendas, meeting notes, and follow-up summaries for IT meetings
  • Serve as a point of contact for general IT-related administrative inquiries from staff
  • Assist with coordinating IT projects by tracking timelines, deliverables, and dependencies


IT Asset & Inventory Management

• Maintain accurate records of IT assets, including laptops, monitors, mobile devices, peripherals, and software licenses.

  • Track equipment assignment, serial numbers, warranty information, and replacement cycles
  • Coordinate IT equipment logistics for onboarding and offboarding staff
  • Support laptop imaging and device deployment schedules in coordination with IT

Staff

  • Track returned, surplus, or retired equipment in accordance with organizational policies


Purchasing & Vendor Coordination

  • Prepare timely purchase requests, quotes, and documentation for IT hardware, software, and services 
  • Track contracts, renewals, warranties, and licensing agreements
  • Liaise with vendors, managed service providers, and internal procurement or finance teams as needed
  • Maintain organized vendor files and contact lists


Documentation & Compliance Support

  • Maintain IT documentation, including procedures, checklists, and internal guides
  • Assist with organizing documentation for audits, compliance reviews, and security assessments
  • Track required documentation and ensure records are current and accessible
  • Support the maintenance of access logs and other administrative compliance records


Employment Standards 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 


Knowledge

Advanced computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and database management; Intermediate level knowledge of project management tools; English grammar, syntax and spelling.


Skills

  • At least 1 year of administrative, operations, or technical support experience
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency with office productivity tools (e.g., spreadsheets, document management systems)
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion

 

Education & Experience

Any combination equivalent to or likely to provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. 


High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting an IT department or technical team
  • Familiarity with IT asset tracking systems or ticketing platforms
  • Experience in a regulated, compliance-focused environment (e.g., nonprofit, healthcare, public sector)

 

Essential Requirements 

A valid California Driver's License and transportation, or acceptable substitute, may be required based on assigned duties.

Compensation 

This position is non-exempt. Regular Salary: $29.19 - $41.27 per hour.

Starting salary is typically between the $29.19 and $32.23 of the range, depending on internal equity and experience.
