The USC Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences is the largest and oldest of the USC schools and serves as the academic core of the university. USC Dornsife advances knowledge and offers instruction across the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.
The USC Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant II to provide administrative and academic support to multiple departments within the Dornsife Academic Service Hub for the Humanities.
Job Accountabilities:
Performs varied administrative and general office duties in support of academic departments. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Perform varied administrative and general office duties for academic departments
- Coordinate schedules, meetings, and departmental events
- Prepare and maintain correspondence, reports, and records
- Screen and prioritize incoming calls
- Initiate and process budget and business transactions in accordance with USC policies and procedures (e.g., supplier invoices, internal service deliveries, honoraria, reimbursements, and procurement requests)
- Provide information, guidance, and assistance to faculty, staff, students, and visitors
- Assist with office operations, including document management and compliance with university procedures
- Track and monitor assigned budget expenditures
- Order office supplies for departmental offices and the academic service hub
- Assist with maintaining office equipment and coordinating related purchases
- Ensure confidentiality and control access to sensitive information
- Manage student workers
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a higher education or academic setting
- Familiarity with USC administrative systems and procedures
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Proficiency with standard office software and systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively
Hourly range
The hourly rate range for this position is $25.73 - $32.83. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer alignment, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

Minimum Skills: Secretarial or specialized clerical and administrative experience.
