Location: St Michael's Clinic, Shrewsbury
Permanent: Full Time 37.5 hours - Monday – Friday - 0900-1700

You'll support clinicians, coordinate patient pathways, and help maintain the high standards of service that our patients expect.
How You'll Help Us Make Health Happen
As an Administration Assistant, you'll be responsible for delivering an outstanding administrative service while supporting the smooth running of the clinic.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver a professional, efficient and effective administration service to patients, clinicians and visitors.
Manage patient pathways from referral through to discharge, ensuring all stages are completed accurately and efficiently.
Book new, follow-up and surgical appointments as required.
Respond to patient enquiries and support appointment conversions where appropriate.
Complete accurate clinical coding and support billing processes.
Ensure clinic lists are prepared and available for scheduled clinics.
Maintain accurate patient records and update information where necessary.
Scan and upload patient documentation in a timely manner.
Liaise closely with clinical teams to support patient care and clinic operations.
Support regulatory requirements, audits and action plans within the clinic.
Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, professionalism and customer service.
Provide cross-cover and support colleagues across the wider administration team when required.
Key Skills / Qualifications
Essential
Strong computer literacy with good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent communication skills with a professional and courteous telephone manner.
Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload effectively.
Problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Ability to follow policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
A positive, patient-focused approach with excellent attention to detail.
Desirable
Previous healthcare or medical administration experience.
Knowledge of EMIS.
Good typing skills.
Understanding of medical terminology.
Experience of clinical coding and billing processes.
