We are seeking a highly analytical and results-oriented Adjudicator to join our Credit Risk Management Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing loan applications, making sound credit decisions, identifying and mitigating credit risks, and providing recommendations in keeping with the Bank’s lending policies, guidelines and established approval limits.

The role will also contribute to the development of loan officers through coaching, support the continuous review of loan policies and participate in assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities

Loan Review & Credit Decision-Making

  • Review loan applications and make credit decisions within established timelines.
  • Assess credit risks inherent in loan proposals and recommend appropriate mitigating conditions.
  • Determine appropriate Conditions of Approval to mitigate the Bank’s credit risk exposure and maintain the Conditions Log.
  • Review re-submissions and make timely loan decisions.
  • Recommend decisions on exceptions where applicable.
  • Consult with the Senior Adjudicator regarding loan conditions, exceptions and proposed declines, where necessary.
  • Clearly document the rationale for loan suspensions and declines.

Credit Risk Management

  • Ensure loan decisions are consistent with prescribed lending limits, policies and guidelines.
  • Identify material risks and deficiencies within loan proposals before approval.
  • Apply sound credit judgment in assessing loan proposals and determining appropriate risk mitigation measures.
  • Support the maintenance of high-quality credit decisions through thorough and accurate loan reviews.

Policy & Process Improvement

  • Review loan policies and provide recommendations for changes based on emerging requirements and operational experience.
  • Keep abreast of changes to Bank policies, products, services and reporting requirements.
  • Participate in assigned projects and contribute to the achievement of project objectives.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • First Degree in Finance, Business Administration or Accounting; or
  • ACCA Level 2 Certificate; or
  • A minimum of seven (7) years' experience as a Loans Officer.
  • Experience in managing risks and relationships with customers, clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, including reading, writing, speaking, listening and knowledge sharing.

Skills Required
