Job Description:
Summary: Hallmark is currently looking for an Actuarial Intern, to support our Pricing and Reserving team working out of our Dallas office. This is an exciting opportunity to receive Property/Casualty exposure within a dynamic company and actuarial team.
This position will be responsible for:
• Assists in gathering and manipulating data, performing calculations, and producing reports
• Learns basic product designs and features to value liabilities and project future cash flows
• Learns actuarial techniques in pricing, predictive modeling, and general data gathering and analysis
• Works on projects related to rate-making, profitability analysis, projections, reserving, administration, competitive position, etc.
• Develops and utilizes knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and computer programming to fulfill management requests
• Creates tools and reports for validation, tracking, auditing, competitive analysis, etc
• capital and assessment of insurance capital needs

Basic Qualifications:
• Actively enrolled in an accredited college or university majoring in Math, Actuarial Science, or other related fields.
• Comfortable with quantitative analysis and tools
• Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Ability to interact with senior management
• Strong organizational skills
• Be legally eligible to work in the U.S
Preferred Qualifications:
• Insurance experience
• Microsoft Excel
• SQL, Python, R or SAS
• While not required, having at least 1 passed actuarial exam is a plus
