Position Summary:
The purpose of this internship is to assist team members in conducting competitor analysis to provide market competitiveness insights for Commercial GL, Property, and Auto lines of business. Competitor analysis involves researching competitor rate filings, updating competitor database, and maintaining Tableau dashboard for presentation of results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research on competitor rate filings for Commercial GL, Property, and Auto lines of business
- Perform competitor analyses for Commercial GL, Property, and Auto lines of business.
- Update Tableau dashboards to compare GNY and competitor filings.
- Update competitor analysis SQL Server database tables based on rate filings research.
- Update and maintain SQL code to output final competitor analysis tables.
- Participate in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
- Minimum two years of college completed in Actuarial, Statistics, Computer Science, Math, Engineering or related field.
- Experience in building spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel required.
- Programming experience in SQL, R, VBA, or other languages preferred.
- Working knowledge of Tableau preferred.
Skills:
- Strong ability to quickly learn new programming languages or software
- Strong ability to perform work efficiently and accurately
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Other Requirements:
- Strong ability to read through and analyze policy coverages.
The salary range for this role is $20/hr - $35/hr. The listed annual salary range posted for this position is subject to change and may vary depending on performance, education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, demonstrated proficiency in the competencies required for the role and business needs. Base pay is just one component of GNY’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus based on performance.
