Job Summary:

As an Actuarial Developer II on the Actuarial Reporting, Workflow, and Analytics (RWA) team, you will lead efforts to expand adoption of the Actuarial Technology Platform (ATP). This position provides direct oversight of solution design and implementation for process enhancements in Employee Benefits financial reporting and pricing. Close collaboration with Actuarial Data Management, Enterprise Data & Analytics, and Platform Enablement teams is essential to transitioning legacy processes successfully to ATP technology stacks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead with AI - everyday use of AI and generative-AI tools (such as coding assistants and large language models) a default part of how you work — for development, analysis, testing, and documentation.
  • Promote the integration of advanced AI capabilities to strengthen actuarial processes and analytics.
  • Act as the actuarial technology lead while continually expanding expertise in Databricks.
  • Lead financial reporting and pricing initiatives by translating solution designs into actionable change requirements.
  • Create and present future-state process maps for stakeholders.
  • Provide operational support for the RWA team and legacy actuarial solutions, maintaining governance and reliability while resolving issues promptly.

Skills & Background You’ll Need:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Business, Information Systems, or a related field; minimum five years’ experience in the actuarial or insurance industry.

Skills:

  • Proven experience in actuarial transformation, process improvement, and technology implementation.
  • Experience in actuarial pricing, financial reporting, and underwriting (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Databricks, Python, SQL, SAS, Jira, and Agile methodology (required)
  • Experience with Codex or Claude Code (preferred)
  • Familiarity with accounting under Statutory, U.S. GAAP, or Economic bases (preferred)

Key Behaviors of a Successful Candidate

Winning Together: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships within the team and across the organization. Effectively collaborates with stakeholders and is able to translate complex ideas into easily understandable concepts for non-technical stakeholders to accomplish common business goals.

Driving success: Drives team performance toward goals and provides training and development to immediate team members.  Serves as a significant resource and mentor to others on the actuarial team. Establishes clarity, sets ambitious goals, and champions execution with purpose and urgency.

Improvement Mindset: Acts independently to research, identify, assess, and recommend methods and procedures on new assignments. Thinks innovatively, brings ideas to life, and proactively identifies and resolves business issues — designing certain solutions with limited input from leadership. Applies knowledge of actuarial business systems across the full development cycle and designs solutions that make complex business problems easier to analyze.

Customer Focus: Understands and anticipates the needs of internal and external customers and develops customer-inspired solutions that exceed expectations.
