As an Actuarial Analyst, you will drive data-informed decisions by conducting advanced statistical analyses to support pricing in your assigned region and products. You'll collaborate closely with the regional pricing actuary, underwriting, and product teams to develop innovative pricing strategies that balance profitability with market competitiveness. You will work on the rate impact team assisting with policy re-rating, impact metrics, and state pricing scenarios.
What you’ll do
- Assist the pricing actuary in your region with rate studies, rate indications, filing support, policy re-rating, and impacts
- Prepare and reconcile data
- Conduct preliminary analysis of data and reports and review internally
- Conduct ad hoc reports
- Assist on project tasks
This might describe you
- Skilled in mathematical and statistical procedures
- Excellent ability to analyze various forms of statistical data
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good working knowledge of coding/statistical software such as Excel, SQL, SAS, R, Python, etc.
- 1 - 2 years of actuarial or related analytics experience
- Experience with pricing tools such as Radar or Akur8
- Experience in re-rating and validating premiums
Other things to note
- This position is open to U.S. remote work. However, team members who reside within 20 miles of the Traverse City headquarters will follow a hybrid schedule, working from the office three days per week.
- This role will not be eligible for the exam program
- Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable. For SOX compliant roles, responsible for designing, executing, and documenting internal controls where they have been identified as owners to prevent errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations. Including attestation to the completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting data, where applicable
