About the role
As an Actuarial Analyst on the Cover Genius Actuarial team, you will support pricing, reserving, and portfolio monitoring across our embedded insurance products. You will work closely with senior actuaries, Insurance Managers, Product, and Commercial teams to deliver analytical work that directly informs how CG prices, reserves, and structures partner relationships in real time.
To drive success in this role, you will bring a strong analytical foundation, intellectual curiosity about insurance and embedded products, and the discipline to progress through actuarial examinations alongside the day job. Regular collaboration with Insurance, Product, Commercial, Finance, and carrier teams will be key to ensuring CG's pricing remains risk-adequate, commercially competitive, and operationally sound.
Key Responsibilities:
Build, validate, and document pricing model components for assigned product lines and geographies under senior actuarial review.
Support quarterly and annual reserving cycles, including loss development analysis and IBNR estimation for assigned portfolios.
Run monthly and quarterly reporting workflows: loss ratio monitoring, bordereaux analysis, premium reconciliation, and experience tracking.
Partner with Insurance Managers and Product teams to respond to pricing requests for new partner deals and product launches.
Analyse loss experience data to identify emerging trends, anomalies, and data quality issues; propose remediation approaches.
Support the development of Generalized Linear Model.
To help us level up, you'll ideally have:
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field; postgraduate degree desirable.
1+ years of actuarial or quantitative analytical experience; insurance, insurtech, or financial services preferred.
Active progress through preliminary actuarial exams (CAS, SOA, IFoA, or equivalent). CAS is preferred.
Strong proficiency in Excel; working knowledge of SQL and Python (or willingness to develop quickly). Familiarity with version control (Git) is a plus.
Exposure to pricing, reserving, or loss reporting methods through coursework, internships, or prior roles.
Bonus: experience with embedded insurance, MGA platforms, GLMs, real-time pricing systems, or commercial lines analytics.
