The ACT Peer Recovery Support Specialist is a fully integrated member of a multidisciplinary team providing community-based services to individuals with serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders. The Peer Recovery Support Specialist uses lived experience to promote recovery, engagement, and independence. This is an opportunity to be part of a high-impact team that meets people where they are and supports long-term recovery in the community.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $22.26 per hour.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide peer-based support using lived experience to promote recovery and engagement
  • Assist individuals in developing recovery goals, wellness plans, and self-advocacy skills
  • Conduct outreach and engagement, including working with individuals who are difficult to engage with
  • Accompany individuals to appointments and assist with navigation of systems (housing, medical, benefits, etc.)
  • Connect individuals to community resources and recovery supports
  • Model coping strategies, recovery principles, and wellness practices
  • Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation as part of the ACT team
  • Participate in daily team meetings and shared caseload responsibilities
  • Deliver services primarily in the community in alignment with ACT fidelity standards
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with Medicaid and agency requirements
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to support whole-person care
  • Utilizes databases and Electronic Health Record systems for accurate client documentation
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, mandated reporting requirements, and professional ethical guidelines
  • Services delivered primarily in the community (minimum 75%)
  • Participation in daily team meetings and shared caseload model
  • High-frequency, individualized service delivery based on client acuity
  • Ongoing assertive outreach and engagement efforts
  • Flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Team-based approach to reduce hospitalizations and improve community stability
  • Travel within designated service areas
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • A high school degree or GED equivalent is required
  • Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (or ability to obtain within required timeframe) is required
  • Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use conditions is required
  • Minimum 3 years quality recovery from substance use disorder is required
  • Experience working with individuals with serious mental illness is preferred
  • Experience partnering with local behavioral health systems, housing, legal systems, and social services is preferred
