What you'll be doing
As the ACH Operations Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our operations—leading, inspiring, and developing a high-performing team dedicated to delivering exceptional service. You’ll leverage your expertise to motivate and mentor staff, foster innovation, and drive operational excellence.
You’ll oversee all aspects of ACH operations, from resource allocation and budgeting to process improvement and strategic initiatives. Your leadership will ensure seamless service delivery, resolve complex escalations, and champion a culture of continuous improvement.

How you'll succeed
Lead & Inspire: Guide a team of four processing professionals, cultivating a collaborative and high-performance environment.
Drive Excellence: Manage scheduling, performance evaluations, and quality assurance to maintain outstanding productivity and service.
Build Partnerships: Forge strong relationships with key business partners across Treasury Management, Commercial Banking, Deposit Operations, AML, Internal Audit, and Risk & Governance.
Champion Training: Design and deliver industry-specific training and cross-training to mitigate key-person risk and enhance team capabilities.
Innovate & Improve: Identify and implement process improvements, increase STP rates, and reduce errors—all while maintaining robust risk and operational controls.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to long-term planning and the implementation of strategic initiatives that shape the future of our operations.
Compliance & Audit: Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and banking regulations; participate in audit and compliance reviews.
Special Projects: Lead or contribute to special projects, coordinating efforts to achieve business objectives.
Operational Resilience: Develop and implement contingency plans to ensure operational continuity.
Who you are
ACH/Payment Systems Expert: Deep understanding of ACH processing and electronic payment platforms.
Regulatory Savvy: Knowledge of Nacha Operating Rules, banking laws, fraud prevention, and regulatory requirements.
Tech Proficiency: Skilled in financial software, Microsoft Office, and project management tools (e.g., Jira).
Accounting Acumen: Familiarity with accounting principles, financial transactions, and reconciliation.
Detail-Oriented: Meticulous in handling financial data and ensuring accuracy.
Problem Solver: Adept at resolving complex payment issues and driving process improvements.
Strong Communicator: Exceptional written and verbal skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Organized & Strategic: Effective at managing workflows, projects, and long-term planning.
Critical Thinker: Analytical mindset for evaluating processes and data.
Experienced Professional: 7+ years in ACH/Payments; credentials such as AAP, APRP, or CTP highly desirable. BA/BS degree required.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $110,000 - $125,000K for the Chicago, IL market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component. CIBC offers a full range of benefits and programs to meet our employee’s needs; including Medical, Dental, Vision, Health Savings Account, Life Insurance, Disability, and Other Insurance Plans, Paid Time Off (including Sick Leave, Parental Leave and Vacation), Holidays and 401(k), in addition to other special perks reserved for our team members.
