The Accounts Specialist plays a vital role in advancing the ministry’s mission by ensuring accurate, efficient, and reliable daily financial and administrative functions.
Responsibilities
- Accurately process all accounts receivable transactions, including checks, online payments, and donations.
- Prepare and distribute timely monthly billing statements via email.
- Receive and review invoices, collaborating with the Executive Administrator to ensure prompt payment.
- Provide responsive support to Adult & Teen Challenge affiliates regarding accounts, invoices, and recurring payments.
- Deliver reconciled month-end reports to CPAs with precision and consistency.
- Support the Executive Administrator with assigned tasks, including preparation for the annual audit.
- Oversee operations of the ATC online store across multiple platforms, ensuring order fulfillment, strong vendor coordination, and excellent customer service.
- Monitor and manage inventory, including creating purchase orders and maintaining supplier communication.
- Coordinate and execute annual inventory counts.
- Partner with internal departments to ensure product availability for events and initiatives.
- Administer and process Light for the Lost grants within the Zoho platform.
- Assist with credit card reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records.
- Provide backup phone coverage, maintaining a courteous and helpful first point of contact for callers.

Requirements
Required Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience
- High school diploma required; a 2- or 4-year degree in accounting or business is preferred (but not required).
- Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) strongly preferred.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated technological aptitude and willingness to learn new systems.
