What's the Short Version?
The Accounts Receivable Representative works with an assigned group of customers and is responsible for managing accounts financially – calling customers for payment information, researching and resolving account discrepancies, business building, risk management, and developing and enhancing SanMar's relationships with their customers. Our Accounts Receivable Representatives, in their professional approach, have a significant impact on SanMar by securing revenue, managing risk of loss through negotiating payment arrangements, and credit terms in a collaborative manner with their customers.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Manage customer relationships with SanMar by monitoring customer payments and recognizing opportunities for business building and risk management.
- Communicate with customers primarily over the phone and secondarily via email to ensure payments are made in a timely fashion, and negotiate in a collaborative manner.
- Communicate professionally and with empathy, in a service-oriented manner on both inbound and outbound calls with customers.
- Handle and diffuse potentially stressful or tense situations by demonstrating patience and understanding.
- Provide timely approval of orders for assigned accounts; cover for teammates as needed.
- Work with the various credit terms offered to SanMar’s customers.
- Manage customers within the credit limit guidelines given; increase credit lines by obtaining necessary information to accommodate limit reviews.
- Maintain customer information accurately through various systems, and accurately note all communications and interactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
What Are We Looking For?
- 1-3 years Collection and/or Customer Service experience
- Experience supporting customers over the phone is preferred
- Collection and account management experience is preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate strong de-escalation skills
- Strong negotiation skills, ability to collaborate with customers to find mutually acceptable solutions with positive results
- High level of competency with PC and software applications, and ability to learn new programs quickly
- Excellent time management skills, prioritization, and ability to multitask
- Detail-oriented, with a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Excellent attendance and punctuality

What's Our Offer?
Salary Range: You`ll earn between $21.50 - $30.00 (WA, NJ); $19.67 - $27.45 (MN, NV, TX, VA); $18.92 - $26.40 (AZ, ID, FL MT, OH) on an hourly basis, depending on experience.
Bonus: You`ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 5% of base salary.
Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a weekly basis based on hours worked up to 112 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

What Should You Expect?
Remote: Our standard working hours are 8:00-5:00 PST. Periodic travel may be required. The employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods while working on a computer and participating in virtual and in-person meetings. Frequent use of hands for keyboarding and standard office equipment is required. Occasional standing, walking, and reaching may be needed to attend meetings or collaborate in an office setting. The role requires the ability to perform close visual work on a computer for extended periods. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10–15 pounds.
