Position Overview: 
 
The Accounts Payable Specialist efficiently handles all accounts payable for a broad range of vendors and services. This position reports to the Accounts Payable Manager and interacts with multiple departments.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Accounts Payable Specialist:
 

  • Possesses the technical skills and accounting knowledge required to perform essential tasks in an efficient and effective manner

  • Uses software programs related to the position

  • Handles multiple assignments and prioritizes as needed

  • Accepts new responsibilities and adapts well to changes

  • Establishes a pattern of working independently and meeting deadlines

  • Ensures invoices are paid in a timely and accurate manner

  • Ensures accurate filing and storage of records

  • Possesses excellent customer/vendor relationship skills

  • Handles complex situations with problem-solving skills

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:
 

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred)

  • High school diploma or GED (required)

  • 3-5 years of experience in accounts payable (required)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (including advanced knowledge of Excel)

  • Proficiency with accounting software

  • Ability to use 10-key calculators

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously 

  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule
