Job Summary
The Accounts Associate assists the Finance team and auditors with administrative, accounting, and bookkeeping functions. The Accounts Associate is expected to be familiar with popular accounting software programs and have a firm grasp of basic accounting principles and practices.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintain records and filing systems.
- Prepare financial forms, documents, and reports.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation for audit processes.
- Compile and review financial information.
- Comply with all local legal regulations and requirements as it relates to accounting practices.
- Answer telephones and handle routing correspondence with clients.
- Collate accounts of staff, travel advances, and other expenses relating to entertainment and travel.
- Prepare invoices, statement of accounts, vouchers, and other documents.
- Give appraisal on all payment applications for appropriate authorization.
- Communicate with clients and with various departments in the organization to find solutions to outstanding payments and clarify accounting related issues, procedures, and policies.
- Collate monetary data and maintain accounting journals and ledgers.
- Reconcile active programs and assigned bank account using QuickBooks and internal reports.
- Post entries in designated accounting systems.
- Assist in the preparation of vendor payments.
- Keep information confidential.
- Report any inappropriate accounting practices.

Requirements
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
Five years’ experience in a managerial role
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Efficient in problem-solving skills, and working with diverse variables
Ability to communicate with diverse groups of people
Ability to perform basic and higher mathematical calculations
Ability to adapt to the needs and requirements of the organization
Knowledge/proficiency with QuickBooks
Skills Required
