As an Accounting Supervisor at Trucorida, you will oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting, team development, and compliance with internal controls. Reporting to the Account Manager, you will play a key role in leading your team through complex accounting processes, supporting financial audits, and driving continuous improvement in workflows. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and is passionate about developing people and processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support accounting staff in daily operations, month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results to management
- Coordinate with management to set financial goals and maintain reporting deadlines
- Perform full balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the integrity of the general ledger
- Consolidate financial statements across multiple entities and perform variance analysis
- Facilitate and support internal and external audits with required documentation
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices
- Reconcile revenue according to client and carrier contracts
- Interpret financial data, analyze trends, and provide insights for strategic decision-making
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting
- Proficiency in accounting software (Excel, Sage, QuickBooks, Soft Ledger, Travers, etc.)
- Experience managing reconciliation processes and resolving aged items
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, etc.)
- Familiarity with insurance accounts receivables and related processes
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior team members
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to identify financial risks and escalate issues proactively
