The Accounting Specialist will support the accounting team with daily operations, including posting journal entries, processing accounts payable, reconciling corporate checking accounts, and completing other general ledger reconciliations. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with implementation of specific automation initiatives within the department
  • Complete reconciliation of ITM’s and ATM’s and work with front line to research and decision reconciling items
  • Reconcile corporate checking accounts, resolving discrepancies
  • Reconcile daily business and verify check deposits with corporate checking accounts
  • Execute the accounts payable process and work with users of the AVID system
  • Follow up on outstanding invoices with co-workers and vendors
  • General ledger posting, reconciliation and research
  • Research, track, and resolve accounting or documentation items including discrepancies.
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Perform revenue and expense variance analysis
  • Other duties as listed in the job description.

 Qualifications/Experience Required:

  • High school or equivalent required; postgraduate education in accounting or related field preferred. 
  • One to three years of previous related experience required.
  • Knowledge of related computer applications.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting procedures.
  • Intermediate knowledge of spreadsheet software
  • Excellent typing skills
  • Attentive to detail and accuracy
  • Cooperative and willing to assist others.
