Job Description

We’re looking for a Payroll & Accounting Specialist to support accurate payroll processing and key accounting functions while upholding the integrity, trust, and service our members expect.

Payroll Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly payroll with accuracy and compliance, including union contracts and regulatory requirements

  • Prepare and file quarterly and annual payroll reports (941s, W-2s, state filings, etc.)

  • Serve as the primary contact for employee payroll questions

  • Partner with Human Resources to coordinate benefits-related payroll reporting

  • Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation

Accounting & General Ledger Support

  • Reconcile daily cash receipts with funding reports and bank statements

  • Bill insurance companies for accident-related claims, including submitting claims and following through on reimbursement
  • Record miscellaneous receipts and prepare recurring and adjusting journal entries

  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts such as accruals, prepaids, and benefits payable

  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field

• Minimum of two (2) years of payroll experience

Skills and Abilities

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

• Experience identifying and resolving discrepancies while maintaining confidentiality

• Clear written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel skills
