The Accounting Specialist will work in the Jencap office in Springfield, MO.
The ideal candidate for this position would possess a working knowledge of accounting principles and a high level of organization and attention to detail. The position duties would include, but are not limited to: posting daily cash receipt and ACH transactions and customer service inquiries from our agents/customers. Our organization is a fast paced, growth-oriented company that is in a constant state of evolution to better ourselves. We are seeking someone adaptable and eager to learn as well as self-motivated and can work independently while being a part of a bigger team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing accounts receivable to include:
- Posting cash transactions – cash entry, reconciliation, balancing, and posting
- Customer service for our agents/customers
- Communications for customer service are by phone and email.
- Learning several different software programs, specific to the insurance industry.
- Assisting with any other duties as needed to support the accounts receivable team
Required Skills:
- Sufficient knowledge of accounting principles
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Problem solving
- Excellent organization and documentation skills
- Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail
- Initiative to take adequate steps to succeed
- Ability to prioritize and organize work
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to independently adhere to company policies and procedures with minimal supervision
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel® is a plus
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years previous accounting experience preferred.
- Cash posting experience preferred but not required.
