The Accounting Specialist will work in the Jencap office in Springfield, MO.
The Jencap Accounting team is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Accounting Specialist to support our commissions accounting function. This role requires knowledge of accounting principles and a high level of organization and attention to detail. The position duties would include the processing of our agency partner's commissions. Our organization is a fast paced, growth-oriented company that is in a constant state of evolution to better ourselves. We are seeking someone adaptable and eager to learn as well as self-motivated and can work independently while being a part of a bigger team.
Responsibilities:
- Managing accounts receivable to include:
- Posting cash transactions – cash entry, reconciliation, balancing, and posting
- Customer service for our agents/customers
- Communications for customer service are by phone and email.
- Entering and posting invoices.
- Balancing and processing payables to issue commission checks to our retail agents.
- Learning several different software programs, specific to the insurance industry.
- Research our software programs to locate information internally or for other offices.
- Log incoming payments into Excel.
- Assisting with any other duties as needed to support the accounts receivable team

- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel® is a plus
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years previous accounting experience OR accounting degree – preferred but not required.
- Must have demonstrated experience with AP, AR and reconciliations.
- Must be able to work a hybrid schedule with the team in our Springfield office.
