Description
Position Purpose and Objectives
This position exists to assist with the activities necessary to complete the routine functions of the Accounting Department. The primary responsibilities of this job are to balance general ledgers; review, maintain and balance sub-ledgers as well as prepare monthly management reports; aid in the preparation of the quarterly call report; and back-up in all other areas of the Accounting Department as needed on a daily, monthly, quarterly, or yearly basis.
Major Duties and Essential Functions
- Balance and review general ledgers and/or bank accounts
- Assists with research, problem resolution, and answering general questions related to Accounting processes. This person must be able to interact with Department Managers or Executives regarding questions, concerns, or errors seen while reconciling the Corporate CU accounts.
- Prepare claims request for Cashier checks and money orders.
- Aid in the preparation of the quarterly call report.
- Assists with audits and examinations.
- Back-up in all other areas of the Accounting Department as needed on a daily, monthly, quarterly, or yearly basis.

Requirements
Specific knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position:
Work involves interpersonal relationships for the purpose of exchanging technical, important or sensitive information where discussion, interpretation and explanation may be required. Tact and diplomacy is required. Ability to operate desk top computer and associated peripheral equipment, and use Credit Union software programs necessary. Excel knowledge is required.
Education : Minimum of Associates Degree in Accounting, Business Management, Finance or Economics.
Experience : One to two years of related experience and/or training. May substitute related experience for education.
