Brown & Brown is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our growing team in San Antonio, TX!
Under the Financial Business Partner’s guidance, the Accounting Specialist primary responsibilities include monitoring routine accounting reports and ensuring that the appropriate action is taken, assisting the PCL and Service team with routine accounting matters, and performing relevant duties for month-end.
How You Will Contribute:
Reviews company payables and/or vendor payables for accuracy, assigns tasks to the appropriate team, and assists with resolution as needed.
Reviews Aged Receivables on a weekly basis and resolves items as needed. Makes sure no customer balances over 59 days – works with CSR and Producer to collect.
Reviews other routine accounting reports to identify accurate coding and necessary reclasses. Actions or assigns to the appropriate team.
Provides support to the PCL and Service Team for routine matters related to accounting.
Participates in office bi-monthly Aged Receivables meetings.
Drafts and posts journal entries as needed or works with the appropriate team to request.
Assists Business Partner with month-end close tasks, including review of financial variances.
Skills & Experience to be Successful:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
2+ years of accounting or finance experience (accounts receivable/payable experience strongly preferred)
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems
High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with internal teams
Proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Pay Range
$48.08 - $48.08 HourlyThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
