Tate & Lyle Global Shared Services Centre in Łódź is the principal location for handling the business support activities and processes for Tate & Lyle, both transactional as well as value-added business partnering support. Starting operations in 2011 with less than 50 people, we now have over 350 employees supporting operations globally. We have 30 teams operating in Łódź to provide service in the areas of Finance, Customer Service, Procurement, HR/People Services, and IS/IT

ROLE PURPOSE

The Accounting & Reporting Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the general accounting processes for the Americas region. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, delivering insightful analysis, and supporting strategic decision-making through effective business partnering.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team dedicated to managing the financial performance of Tate & Lyle's Americas region. The role involves guiding a team to provide precise and timely financial information, which is essential for understanding and managing the business effectively.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Lead and manage Financial Reporting and Business Partnering team, including assigning tasks, setting performance goals, conducting performance reviews, and providing training and development opportunities to ensure team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Responsible for financial analysis delivery by managing a team that executes accurate and timely financial reporting, analysis for the region.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders in regions to enable effective and timely performance control.
  • Oversee the Month-End Close process, ensuring proper cost allocation and process adherence.
  • Challenge the status quo and propose alternative solutions to drive efficiency.
  • Professionally coach individuals and improve team capabilities.
  • Develop and manage the team, contributing to their individual career development and growth aspirations.
  • Take full accountability for all balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Support the preparation of statutory accounts.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure that all financial data is accurately recorded and reported within the required timelines.
  • Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Financial Reporting & Business Partnering function.
  • Monitor and manage the performance of the team’s processes through KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure that all financial reporting processes comply with internal controls, company policies, and external regulations, including maintaining proper documentation for audit support.
  • Manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and address any issues that arise.
  • Present analytical findings to senior management.
  • Work closely with other finance teams, such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, Tax, and FP&A.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Drive end-to-end standard processes.
  • Manage projects related to R2R processes and search for process improvements to increase service levels and competitiveness in the market.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate in Finance/Accounting/Economics/Mathematics
  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA or CIMA) or international equivalent is beneficial

EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of best-practice experience in Accounting or Finance roles
  • Experience in SAP (BW/HFM desired)
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis.
