About Beautylish
Beautylish is a cosmetics and skincare vertical with a presence in both the retail e-commerce and wholesale space. Operating across multiple entities and international markets, we partner with best-in-class brands and major retailers, and run our own product lines— including fast-growing skincare brand Good Molecules— to serve a loyal, global customer base. Our finance team sits at the center of this growth, using NetSuite as our ERP backbone and applying rigorous accounting standards across multi-currency, multi-entity operations.
The Role
We are seeking an Accounting Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day accounting operations and help us scale a high-functioning finance function. Reporting to the Controller, you will lead a small team and be hands-on across the full accounting cycle—from month-end close and GL reconciliations to process improvement and cross-functional reporting.
We believe in getting better every month. That means rolling up your sleeves before delegating, understanding the business deeply, and being comfortable with ambiguity in a lean, fast-moving environment. This role will grow as the company and team grow.
Responsibilities include:
- Month-End & Year-End Close: Oversee and actively participate in all areas of the monthly and year-end close cycle, including AR, AP, GL account reconciliations, intercompany accounting, multi-entity consolidations, analytical review, and reporting—ensuring compliance with US GAAP. Our standard is a 10-day close cycle
- Process Improvement & Controls: Identify process gaps and drive automation and streamlining efforts; implementation and maintenance of internal controls and proper audit documentation
- NetSuite & Systems Administration: Administer NetSuite including saved searches, GL audits, and maintenance of organized, audit-ready financial records; translate raw financial data into actionable business insights
- Daily Operations: Oversee daily transactions: cash management, AP/AR, banking, payroll review, accrued purchases reconciliation, and monthly foreign exchange rate updates for multi-currency operations
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparation of financial statements and variance analysis, support Income and Indirect Tax requests and compliance as needed for international entities
- Team Leadership: Directly supervise 2–3 team members (including remote staff): set goals, delegate effectively, review work, provide coaching, and conduct performance reviews
- 1-2 years experience at the Accounting Manager level
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance; Accounting certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) is a plus but not required
- Hands-on NetSuite experience (administration, saved searches, GL reporting); advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, complex formulas)
- Experience with driving a hard-close deadline; our goal is a 10-day close cycle
- Multi-entity accounting experience including intercompany transactions, consolidations and cost allocation framework
- Experience with multi-currency accounting and monthly foreign exchange rate processes
- Strong people-management skills: delegation, feedback, coaching for continuous improvement
- Ability to prioritize competing demands, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in ambiguity
- Comfortable establishing new processes and working through complex or conflicting information
Other Requirements:
- Must have current U.S. work authorization and currently reside in the U.S.
- Hybrid position: 3 days per week onsite at our Walnut Creek, CA office

What We Do
Beautylish exists to find exceptional products, tell the inspiring stories behind them, and deliver them with thoughtfulness. We believe an amazing customer experience is driven by a personal relationship with our customers. -- Beautylish was founded in 2010 with a simple mission: to create a community where beauty lovers could share their collective beauty wisdom. People loved it, and our community grew to hundreds of thousands in a few short months. Beautylish rapidly became a valuable resource for the discovery of beauty products, but the experience was incomplete because we weren't able to assist our members in purchasing the amazing products they loved. This led us to launch our own ecommerce presence in 2012. In the 10 years since, we've grown to partner with over 100 brands and ship to customers in over 50 countries around the world while continuing to launch service innovations. We're still in the early part of our journey. There are so many more stories to tell and relationships to build. We hope that you join us as our story unfolds!
