The Opportunity
We are seeking a strong Accounting Manager to join our team. This role will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, supporting month‑end close, and strengthening our internal controls framework. The Accounting Manager must possess strong analytical skills, deep understanding of GAAP, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast‑growing environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage all financial aspects of projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Review the creation of and own the maintenance of project-level accounts, ensuring all postings, allocations, accruals, and payments are completed on schedule.
- Review monthly job reports and proactively identify risks, margin erosion, underbillings, overbillings, or schedule affecting issues.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations, addressing any discrepancies or financial issues that arise during the project lifecycle to ensure proper percentage of completion accounting for all projects.
- Collaborate with sales teams regarding billing, payments, and project financials, resolving any issues that may arise.
- Lead recurring meetings and ad hoc meetings to troubleshoot issues with job financials; coordinate with other departments to remediate any and all related issues.
- Ensure correct application of percentage of completion accounting, aligning with project lifecycle and delivery phases.
- Support the accounting team in overseeing aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process.
- Proactively identify and address discrepancies, errors, or irregularities in financial data. Work quickly and efficiently to resolve issues, ensuring that accounting records remain precise and reliable.
- Assist in and support process improvement projects.
- Prepare audit schedules and provide supporting documentation for external auditors.
- Other duties and special projects as defined.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA license preferred.
- Strong Excel skills required.
- Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- High level of written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Teamwork oriented, working with all levels and departments of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O (or equivalent ERP) highly desired.
- 5+ years of accounting experience; project-based or construction/engineering/HVAC Industry strongly preferred preferably in an industry that utilizes percentage of completion.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
Reasoning
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Mental stamina for problem solving and prioritizing multiple tasks.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate computer keyboard and telephone, reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
