We're looking for an Accounting Manager to join our team in the Bangalore office. In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations in India and APAC, and work with corporate to ensure compliance with US GAAP and local statutory reportings and regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, experience working for US high-tech companies, and a proven track record of accurate and timely financial reporting using NetSuite.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle accounting process for our local India and APAC operations, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Ensure all accounting activities comply with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and are properly reconciled to local statutory books.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for corporate reporting.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure timely filing with tax authorities and other government agencies.
- Lead by example, manage and mentor employees, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Act as the primary point of contact for corporate, external auditors for both US GAAP and local statutory audits.
- Implement NetSuite and other projects. Participate in system design, user testing, migration validation, reports, etc.
- Assist in documenting and monitoring internal controls to ensure data integrity and prevent fraud.
- Stay updated on changes in US GAAP and local accounting standards and implement necessary changes.
- Support with various tasks, including budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc analysis.
- Partner with local management team and employees to foster a collaborative and high-performance environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accounting (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent international certification preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with US high-tech companies is a must.
- Strong US GAAP knowledge and familiarity with equity compensation schemes and accounting treatment.
- Proficiency in accounting software NetSuite, Tally, Microsoft Excel.
- Positive attitude, strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of Indian tax laws, especially GST and transfer pricing
